On the eve of the US presidential election, many people are wondering how a Trump or Harris presidency would shape global dynamics, especially US-China relations. In this video, ThinkChina’s Yi Jina and Lu Lingming ask some Chinese individuals what they think about the election and what the outcome would mean for China.

The 2024 US presidential election is set against a backdrop of increasing tensions between the US and China, with trade disputes and geopolitical rivalries shaping the narrative.

Some interviewees believe Trump’s business-oriented approach could lead to more direct negotiations, though concerns about his unpredictability persist. Others anticipate that Harris will align her China policy with Biden’s, but questions linger about her personality and how it might influence her approach.

The responses reveal a blend of apprehension and optimism: some express confidence in their nation’s strength and adaptability in the face of international pressures, while others worry about the possibility of heightened tensions.
